Tinctorial Bloom

This issue from 2010 is reflecting on the environmental impact mass consumption and mass production has on the planet after the effects of the credit crunch two years earlier as well as accumulating natural disasters have change the perception (and expectations!) of never ending supply and resources, be it natural or man made.

I feel that since 2010 the move towards sustainability, in fashion as well as consumption in general, has prevailed and is being taken seriously.

The colour palette shown in this issue is beautiful and resonates with natural dyeing samples I produced. India Flint and Claudy Jongstra, artists working with natural resources I have investigated in the past, are featured as well.
