Shelly Goldsmith blog: printed pieces

I follow Shelly Goldsmith’s blog posts with great interest as she is very open in regards to her work and thinking process developing her projects.

As she is using dye sublimation on existing garments in her work ‘Locus of the Dress’ I am particularly interested in how she prepares the garments for printing and her relationship with the inevitable print ‘imperfections’ of printing over seems, embroidery, buttons etc.

In this post she reflects on printed pieces and teaching at the University of the Creative Arts (UCA)
